biography

DYLAN BAULD is a multi-instrumentalist, writer, and producer, born in Oregon and based in Los Angeles. His credits include Halsey (Colors, Is There Somewhere?), Liam Payne (Tell Your Friends), Misterwives (Superbloom), Smallpools (A Million Bucks), LIGHTS, and many, many more. By the end of 2021, his productions have amassed over 1,000,000,000 streams on Spotify alone.

A child of emo rock in small town Oregon, Dylan grew up on a steady diet of Underoath and Jimmy Eat World. Out of necessity, he began to produce for his high school band and quickly took to the craft, his productions catching the ear of iconic rock producer John Fields. An offer of a two-year mentorship position brought Dylan down the coast to Los Angeles.

It was there that his love for lively, playable percussion and emo-inspired guitar riffs translated into a unique predilection for left-leaning alternative pop. His first hit came from his bedroom, a guitar-driven instrumental that, after she heard it once, became Halsey’s second single, Colors, now 2x platinum. After a few years signed to pop legend Benny Blanco, Dylan began to make his imprint on a wide range of pop projects, from the most down the middle (Liam Payne) to the most alternative (LIGHTSBobi Andonov).

When Dylan came to Los Angeles, the band came with, now an established, innovative alt-pop outfit called flor. After signing to Fueled By Ramen / Atlantic, the band has been streamed upwards of 200 million times, and sold out theaters across the country. Dylan remains in the band, playing bass and, of course, producing the entire catalogue.

Now a polished and perfected finisher, Dylan’s work flow spans every step of the process— writing with underground Fader star Zachary Knowles one day, producing and mixing a Misterwives album the next, and capping off the week by vocal producing on Halsey’s mega-hit Without Me. Now fully settled, with his own open-air studio in the Valley, Dylan is a skilled tradesman, constantly perfecting his craft.
